From The Start
This small business of mine started simply with two thrift store chairs. I had just moved into an older farmhouse and needed to furnish a home with what I had. So, in that moment, I went back to my home roots and started thrifting. Living in a smaller home there was only room for so much. So, how could I keep this going? I was working a full time job at the time, so I would complete my work day, come home and work on projects. That is when my passion exploded for what I really truly enjoyed doing. At my childhood home, there is an old dairy barn on the property. I thought to myself “why not make this into a pop up shop”? It could be something I could do every so often. That is great in theory although working retail; those are also the busy times. I continued to pursue this “idea” of having a “barn sale” not knowing what turn. I decided you only live once and if I did not try to open those barn doors I would always wonder what could have been. I finally decided to take a weekend off my full-time job and open the barn. What a humbling experience it was, and is, to have people from all over, come out and see what I have created. There is a magic that happens when you do something you love.
